HOBART – 16 March, 2010.  Save 10 Murray today announced the 34 artists who will take part in Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.  The exhibition asks artists to creatively respond to 10 Murray Street, the Hobart high-rise office block that has been condemned to demolition under the recently approved ‘Parliament Square’ redevelopment.

Push to save 10 Murray:  Artists organise exhibition in praise of high-rise block

A lobby group that wants to save a government high-rise building from the wrecking ball is organising an art exhibition to “creatively” protest against its demolition.

Save 10 Murray spokeswoman Briony Kidd said the exhibition would feature unique depictions of what the group considered to be one of Hobart’s finest examples of modern architecture.

The exhibition will be held from May 5-14 as part of the National Trust’s Heritage Festival.
